From 2017 to 2024 Radio bar had been at the center of some the best noise/drone shows to hit the city with a tonne of dope memories made. The bar became a home for some of the best and weirdest shit you could ever have the misfortune of walking past on a busy sunday in fitzroy.

Unfortunately all goods must come to an end as we host what will be the final noise/drone at radio bar. Come with us to celebrate and get fucked up by noise one last time.

Very sad to be saying goodbye to Radio Bar after many years of mad noisy gigs. Big cheers to owners and absolute legends Caryn & Paul for their support and enthusiasm for hosting gross underground sounds. Mega cheers to homies Anthony Cooley & Rod Cooper for organising stuff, keeping it real and working hard to cultivate a welcoming community and good vibes.
Despite the bummer I’m well psyched to collab with fellow noise-lovers Bean, Anthony, Shane for FESTERING ASTHMATIC SLOP DONKEY! No doubt it will be faaaaarkin brutal!

𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋 – This town’s supreme scions of the angular and bristling point where the weirder, more discordant ends of metal, hardcore and sludge met in the mid/late 90s and all genres hit their most rewarding sweet spots. These guys refuse to take their feet out of that beartrap to keep bleeding the rich blood of Kiss It Goodbye, Unsane, Breach and Neurosis.

𝐆𝐈𝐋 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐄 – One of the recent wave of bands taking on the heroic task of stopping ‘screamo’ from being a dirty word. Heralding back to the fire-bellied explosions of arrhythmic dissonance and benign violence they take the pure essences of this abused and embattled genre and inject it full of fresh ideas, fantastic songs, tasteful dramatics and a heap of speed.

𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐓 – like the rest of the bill play a genre plagued with mediocrity and predictability but shove enough electricity up its ass to have the corpse brimming with new life. Nominally ‘old school death metal’ these guys know where the riches are hidden and are an unstoppable, uncontrollable example of making death metal exciting, inventive and engaging again, all the while staying exceptionally brutal.

The Japanese forensick goregrind bulldozer will tear its way through NSW, the ACT and VIC in August 2024.

VISCERA INFEST have gained an infamous reputation with their insane speed, punishing riffs and profoundly violent artistic style. Drummer Yuyi has blown minds across the world with his blistering blastbeats, and their patented cockroach mosh will leave Australian audiences festering on the floor.

This event takes place on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri people and we pay respects to elders past and present, as well as all First Nations people to who we owe immeasurable reparations for harm done through ongoing colonisation and genocide. The venue and artists will contribute part of the takings to pay the rent.

This venue has limitations to accessibility. There are small steps at the entrance and to the beer garden exit which leads to the toilets. Parking can be difficult due to it being a busy street but there are spaces to pull up for dropping off. The number 11 tram stops at the entrance to the venue at stop 17.

The venue has gender neutral bathrooms.
