ESPM @ Tote upstairs 10/07/26

Cloven Fang were conceived, concocted and imagined in Melbourne mid 2025 by Dirk King, Ick Waz and Danimal Steele. Influenced by early US punk and rampant idiocy, they played a handful of shows to anyone who’d listen, which was practically no one, before locking themselves in a dank room late that year to record some tracks of dubious yet undeniably spirited quality, on equipment that was as questionable as their motives.

Result? A four track, vinyl e.p containing short, ugly tunes, full of howls and fetor.

The launch of this splatter platter will take place at the Tote Upstairs on the tenth of July. Joining them for the commiserations are fellow aging dregs and 3/4 Bits of Shit, Cry Cyclops, a set of intense bangers by local gloominaries Metho, booze hounds and kebab shelvers Tankerville, and synth-grinding cyberspace bullies ESP Mayhem.

Kae Takahashi (antiitchcream / ex-Sete Star Sept) plays experimental bass / noise / scream at Mid Week Crisis at The Last Chance on Wednesday June 10th with special guests ESP Mayhem. Come down for a cheap feed and a free show of chaos.

SATURDAY ARVO: RIFFS 4 ANIMAL RESCUE ll w/ Hormagaunt, Vile Apparition, Religious Observance and ESP Mayhem

Want to cuddle some dogs needing a home? Or learn more about how to help dogs and cats in pounds? Or just want to come down for a death and doom filled arvo at Lasties?

CK Animal Rescue Inc are an all women run, small and non for profit dog, cat and animal rescue based in Melbourne. We work tirelessly to bring animals down from high kill regional pounds. We desperately need funds to continue our life saving work! Kitten and puppy season is never ending, and the pound is always overflowing with so many beautiful adult dogs and cats needing our help!

Nows your chance to catch some riffs and have a beer for a great cause! Ticket sales are going to help save more lives and will go to help pay for transport, vet bills, food and medication.

On the day we will have dogs looking for a home, as well as some of our team available to answer any queries about how you can help. So if you’re not a metalhead, but you’re someone who wants to meet some beautiful pups needing a home, or want to learn more about animal rescue, please come down and get amongst the mutts, metal and mayhem!

Prepare yourself for total extreme aural obliteration at the hands of 4 of Melbourne’s finest heavy bands. The Last Chance is presently reinforcing the foundations and iron-cladding the dunnies in preparation for what is guaranteed to be a night of brutal intensity.
Tumour kick off the night with scorching death metal, that will peel your skin, shatter teeth and burn out eyes.
Second up is the frantic spasmodic cyborg-grind-epilepsy that is ESP Mayhem, continually blowing minds with their extreme synth-fused berserk shitfest.
Next up and pounding the Last Chance foundations to dust with their insanely heavy cacophony of hate, will be the crushing and bowel destroying onslaught of Religious Observance.
Finally, with an aural assault that will blast the ceiling off and pummel already bleeding eardrums to mush, will be the frenzied and relentless viscous thrash/grind attack of Pissbolt.

So psyched with how this turned out! This is our first recording that really nails the ESPM sound – thick, loud, unique, crazy! Technically ESPM is a very hard band to record & mix but Jason & Xavier did an amazing job getting it all together while being mercilessly overseen, scrutinised and nitpicked by us.
