This Tuesday at MIUC we delve into texturally tailored electroacoustic expanses of the sonoverse cultivated by thirteen of the most cunning cacophony creators currently enriching the resplendent auricular agglomeration that is Melbournian improvised sound.
Turret Truck is the neoteric raucous venture of noise-rock veterans Dave Brown, Phil Brophy & Bill McDonald, ruminating on the sublime potentialities of motorik mindfulness coupled with elektronik augmentation from the narrower aisles of deadpan dysphoria.
Two veritable sonorespiratory virtuosi in Aviva Endean & Rebecca Lane offer up a rarefied dyadic deliberation upon the rapturous reverberant capacity of the humble reed and pipe, descending from euphoric heights of soprano splendor to intriguing fathomages of contrabass acuity.
The Magnet Orchestra comprises six splendrously chameleonic seekers of au courant audial possibilities operating out of a fertile not-so-secret Coburgian lair, amalgamating mechanical transmogrification with autoelectro reconstruction across all four dimensions of din.
And Tyson Slithers and Emily Yuting Chen shatter both auditory and visual cortices with streams of ocularities and torrents of electroacoustic abstractions, scanning microcosmic realms for nonlinear gems of experiential expansion and interrogatory indulgence.
•Turret Truck feat. Dave Brown (Guitar, Electronics), Phil Brophy (Drums, Electronics) & Bill McDonald (Bass, Electronics)
• The Magnet Orchestra feat. Erin Taylor (Electroacoustic Percussion), Matt Faisandier (Guitar, Electronics), Ari Sharp (Distressed Zincalume), Nik Kennedy (Electro-Oral Noise), Mike Rothwell (Christ-Haunted Drone) & Simon Maisch (Spin Doctor)

Epic Doom-Lords Religious Observance tear it up with True Defectives way loose Sludge, Clogged’s MaximumHooliganGrind and Headlopper’s Experimental Grindcore/Avant-Garde Noisecore
This instalment of MIUC features nine sonoversal shredders in three cacophonously kaleido-audic displays of uncontrived auricular conception, forging frequential realms of existence and fortuity far beyond the reach of more orthodox reverberant renderings.
We welcome kinetically-endowed electroshredder Kooni of Kyoto with some of the finest purveyors of shitcore brutality Melbourne currently has to offer, laying out the spontaneity-stained red carpet for some derangedly dense extreme noise terrificness.
Freya Shack-Arnott favours the Club with another serving of her sublime string-based sonics on a brief Melbournian junket, magnanimously introducing us to consummately gifted guzheng extemporiser Mindy Wong for some synergetic electroacoustic ecstasies.
And Muddy Lawrence, an entity the curator stumbled upon over half a decade ago via a free recycled cassette in a record store and adored immediately, which he has great pleasure in presenting for your post-punk-is-over-so-what-now anti-virtuosic convalescence.
• Kooni (Being Amazing), Yuka Mikayama (Being Fabulous), Ove-Naxx (Being Beats/Samples), Rod Cooper (Being Sounds), Nik Kennedy (Being Noise/Processing) & Brad Smith (Being Drums/A Maniac)
• Freya Schack-Arnott (Cello) & Mindy Wong (Guzheng)
• Muddy Lawrence aka Reece Prain (Electronics, Voice)

WANKOSLOP played with KOONI/KOO-NEE in Kyoto earlier this year and it was HIGHLY ENTERTAINING!! He’s also playing DISCO MULTIVERSE on 16th Nov., and maybe something else… Check him out while he’s in town!
Thanks to Craig/True Defective for organising and putting YENDO BRUUC on this for our second gig. Can’t wait to bust out some more HARSHNOISECORE blobs in a public setting!
Doors at 5:00 PM. $15 on the door plus any donation welcome! For most, Monday’s a holiday so you can stay up late!
What/who is the benefit for?
Unscene Artists Inc. is an Australian non-for-profit organisation, established by all Australian artists that promotes inclusion and diversity in extreme, experimental, eclectic and other original alternative music forms.
Our goal is to obtain Entertainment Sponsor status to enable members to tour likeminded overseas artists in Australia – o/s bands who would otherwise be prevented by high immigration costs, unreasonble union requirements and commercial agent’s commissions and local bands that would be otherwise be denied the opportunity to tour and network with them.
Proceeds will go to immigration application fees and the purchase of backline for touring. Get your hands dirty, Get involved!
October DISCO MULTIVERSE was consensually hijacked by ALL THE WEATHERS and friends for this thing… buggered if I know what any of this stuff is but #TRAMPOLINE will be playing at some point… Info here.
E.S.P. MAYHEM is a nifty new “synthgrind” band I’m playing in… blasting grindcore and angry vocals, but the riffs sound like a robot orgy. The line-up is:
Christoph – drums
Zev – synth
Nik – synth
Doug – vocals
If you’re a grind lover you will know these dudes from (insert 12 bands here).
