COLOSTOMY BONER? recording

Thanks John/COLOSTOMY BAGUETTE? for editing and compiling the recording from COLOSTOMY BONER?’s collab set at Make It Up Club. This was great fun and farkin noisy so no doubt it will happen again in the future!
Thanks also to Lloyd Honeybrook and Stephen Richards for their massive dedication to MIUC, now in it’s 19th year!!

COLOSTOMY BONER? @ MIUC 17/01/2017

miuc-logo01

This week at MIUC we embrace bombastic brutality for the midpoint of our month-long birthday festivities, featuring four fierce frequential factions fixedly fascinated with tinnital fuel efficiency.

Two of the most awe-inspiringly aethyreal duos to ever bedeck the Bar Open stage on a Tuesday, namely organ-ic bombinators Lisa MacKinney & Roman Tucker and euphoric free jazzinators Maria Moles & Adam Halliwell, combine their impeccable processes at summoning sonic splendours.

Two of the most hypervariegatedly spontaneous shredders to arise from the pullulating pits of Hellbourne, namely amazing everythingist James Rushford and everythingcore percussive provocateur Sean Baxter, abstractedly discoursing on the intersectional potentialities of Xenakis, Les Légions Noire and Mark Hamill reading Trump tweets as The Joker.

And two of the most vociferously visceral cacophonous wrecking crews in town, namely Colostomy Baguette? and Holy Boner, unite to usher in an unholy new age of textural terror, handmade horrors, augmentative atrocities and cloyingly crasscore combinatorial bandnames.

– Lisa MacKinney (Organ), Roman Tucker (Organ), Maria Moles (Drums) & Adam Halliwell (Guitar, Electronics)

– James Rushford (Strings) & Sean Baxter (Skins, Things)

– Colostomy Boner? feat. John Stevens (Voice, Electronics), Wayne Donovan (Voice), Nik Kennedy (Handmade Noisebass, Voice), Brad Smith (Drums) & Rod Cooper (Handmade Shreddery, Voice)

PLANET/ARIUM – 19/12/2016

planetarium-01

PLANET/ARIUM is a regular gathering of sound-lovers/noise-makers/improvisers in the SPATIAL Studio at Magnet Studios – www.magnetmelbourne.com.au

Perform / Collaborate / Listen
A communal vibe where people can come and share their sounds, perform, jam & collaborate, organise a sonic happening or experiment, or just listen and enjoy the amazing acoustics of SPATIAL.

Each installment will have a basic theme or structure so it’s not a complete mess (unless that’s the theme).
A communal exchange, not a curated event. Get involved!
If you’ve got an idea, chuck it around, make it happen! Use the Facebook event page or the page on letsnoise.com to discuss stuff, or talk about it on the night.

First voyage: Monday 19th Dec
Spatial Studio, Magnet Studios
11 Roosevelt St. North Coburg

We’ll keep it simple for the first one:

6:30-7:30 Set-up/sound check/show & tell
7:30 “Open PA” and/or jamming
8:30 Break
After that: More Open PA and/or jamming until everyone’s had enough or we run out of time

There’s a good PA but you might want to bring an amp if you have one. We also have a couple of spare amps that people can use.
IMPORTANT: BRING LEADS!!! Whatever “utility” stuff you need to connect your stuff to other stuff. People often forget this!

There will also be a $-donation box-$
Please contribute $5-$10 or whatever you can to help with Magnet’s ongoing explorations! For your input you get access to one of the best-sounding rooms around, a PA or amp to plug your stuff into, a recording of the session (uploaded later), and of course that special warm feeling that you’re helping a good cause. Chur.

KOONI & FRIENDS @ MIUC 08/11/2016

MIUC logo01.jpg

This instalment of MIUC features nine sonoversal shredders in three cacophonously kaleido-audic displays of uncontrived auricular conception, forging frequential realms of existence and fortuity far beyond the reach of more orthodox reverberant renderings.

We welcome kinetically-endowed electroshredder Kooni of Kyoto with some of the finest purveyors of shitcore brutality Melbourne currently has to offer, laying out the spontaneity-stained red carpet for some derangedly dense extreme noise terrificness.

Freya Shack-Arnott favours the Club with another serving of her sublime string-based sonics on a brief Melbournian junket, magnanimously introducing us to consummately gifted guzheng extemporiser Mindy Wong for some synergetic electroacoustic ecstasies.

And Muddy Lawrence, an entity the curator stumbled upon over half a decade ago via a free recycled cassette in a record store and adored immediately, which he has great pleasure in presenting for your post-punk-is-over-so-what-now anti-virtuosic convalescence.

• Kooni (Being Amazing), Yuka Mikayama (Being Fabulous), Ove-Naxx (Being Beats/Samples), Rod Cooper (Being Sounds), Nik Kennedy (Being Noise/Processing) & Brad Smith (Being Drums/A Maniac)

• Freya Schack-Arnott (Cello) & Mindy Wong (Guzheng)

• Muddy Lawrence aka Reece Prain (Electronics, Voice)
