UMBILICAL TENTACLE @ The Yarra tonight!

No rest for the stupid, I’m back from Japan (more on that later) and straight back into the local mania with a sweet line-up and baffling flyer by evil clown/genius Zev. UT shirts will be available for $15, ask us!
UMBILICAL TENTACLE take you on a surf vacation to Innsmouth where the nightmare is more fun than reality and the frontal-lobotomy-via-noisecore gives you algebraic superpowers. http://letsnoise.blogspot.com.au/p/umbilical-tentacle.html?m=1
HEXTAPE is possibly the most riveting, outrageous, unfathomable and untouchable solo project in town, dealing in cosmic burn, future dread, timeless telekinesis and whatever sorcery it’ll take to get your ass shaking.https://hex-tape.bandcamp.com/
DERAILMENT is the soundtrack to that slow motion footage of a cannonball hitting a fat guy’s stomach being sped-up, slowed-down, wound-back, spun-around and eventually tossed in the trough for the pigs to munch on. https://derailment.bandcamp.com/releases
SPAWN are the new kids on the block of riffed up and pumped up stoner doom psych metal so good it’ll make you forget to lock your car door after a sneaky sidestreet bong. https://spawnmelbourne.bandcamp.com/releases

WANKOSLOP @ MIUC 26/04/2017

To wring out the final, spluttering bursts of warmth in Melbtown’s April summer and ease us into the sonic bleakness of winter 2017, MIUC hosts some fittingly abstracted and chaotic atonal improv this week. Intrinsic Light are a long-standing, yet occasional collaboration of two trailblazers of the no-core, break-bruit, anti-tonic, darklight Melbourne scene, fusing the grim and the hopeful in a maelstrom of riffblasting transcendence. The similarly inspired duo of Yuka Mikayama and Nik Kennedy deliver intense blasts of post-grind-noise-improv madness. And, kicking things off, the ultra-digital and the ultra-analogue combination of intrepid A/V artist Vijay Thillaimuthu with MIUC curatorial alumni, theremin-core protégé, Kerrie Farnsworth.
• Intrinsic Light feat. A Demon Sheen (Tantric Riffage, Blackened Throat) & Zen Tait (Pranic Percussions, Benevolent Blast)
• Wankoslop feat. Nik Kennedy (Electro-Oral Noise) & Yuka Mikayama (Voice)
• Xenosine aka Vijay Thillaimuthu (Synths, Electronics) & Phantom Graveller aka Kerrie Farnsworth (Theremin, Sax, Electronics)

Massive cheers to everyone local and interstate who has helped get this tour together! Great line-ups, I wish I could be there for the interstate gigs!
Seeing Kiyasu play solo was a highlight of my Japan trip last year for sure. He’s one of the most dedicated grind/noisemakers I’ve ever met, and this tour is entirely self-funded, so go give him the support he deserves!
