Oct 2025 UPDATE

Haven’t posted in about 6 months so…

SPASMOSLOP: releasing and launching the new album end of Nov!
SPEW BALLOON: 6-track EP is nearly finished and should be launching at an upcoming gig! Full-length album is recorded, should hopefully/realistically come out next year! 2-track EP is recorded and will be out pretty soon on some kinda odd-size lathe record!
ESP MAYHEM: album recording is done! Lots of tinkering and mixing to do so it’ll most likely come out next year. A few gigs coming up in the next few months, keep an eye out!
EXOTIC BLOB: I’ve got 6 songs almost done for my new cybergrind project. Recording vocals soon, hopefully have something out this year, maybe?

ESP MAYHEM @ Last Chance 08/02/2025

Prepare yourself for total extreme aural obliteration at the hands of 4 of Melbourne’s finest heavy bands. The Last Chance is presently reinforcing the foundations and iron-cladding the dunnies in preparation for what is guaranteed to be a night of brutal intensity.
Tumour kick off the night with scorching death metal, that will peel your skin, shatter teeth and burn out eyes.
Second up is the frantic spasmodic cyborg-grind-epilepsy that is ESP Mayhem, continually blowing minds with their extreme synth-fused berserk shitfest.
Next up and pounding the Last Chance foundations to dust with their insanely heavy cacophony of hate, will be the crushing and bowel destroying onslaught of Religious Observance.
Finally, with an aural assault that will blast the ceiling off and pummel already bleeding eardrums to mush, will be the frenzied and relentless viscous thrash/grind attack of Pissbolt.

Updates – Jan 2025

It’s been a while…

SPASMOSLOP – been working on a new album on & off for over a year. In trying to cook up the sounds that are in my brain I of course made it stupidly over-complicated and incomprehensible but I’m trying to make it make sense. I record in a really basic way and mix everything in Audacity and have no fuggin idea what I’m doing so it takes forever. Currently remixing it for the 2000th time, then it’ll get mastered by someone who does know what they’re doing and should sound sick.

SPEW BALLOON – nearly finished our new 6-track EP. Studio recording with lots of mics & shit, but being mixed by Tolman so it sounds proper filthy & wild! Should hopefully be released in some form in time for Flippin The Bird or one of our other gigs in March. Then planning to record for a full-length album mid-year or so.

ESP MAYHEM – a few gigs coming up. Been jamming a lot ahead of recording for a full-length soooooon.

CLOGGED – possible resuscitation and new release 2025/2026… maybe…

G.B.S. – new recordings in the works for some kind of release

STRESSED OUT STRAIGHT GUY – despite not actually being very stressed out I’ll be doing vocals for this HEADLESS DEATH punk rock side project thing, unless I get replaced by an actual SOSG.

Technically ESPM is a very hard band to record & mix but Jason & Xavier did an amazing job getting it all together while being mercilessly overseen, scrutinised and nitpicked by us.

𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋 – This town’s supreme scions of the angular and bristling point where the weirder, more discordant ends of metal, hardcore and sludge met in the mid/late 90s and all genres hit their most rewarding sweet spots. These guys refuse to take their feet out of that beartrap to keep bleeding the rich blood of Kiss It Goodbye, Unsane, Breach and Neurosis.

𝐆𝐈𝐋 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐄 – One of the recent wave of bands taking on the heroic task of stopping ‘screamo’ from being a dirty word. Heralding back to the fire-bellied explosions of arrhythmic dissonance and benign violence they take the pure essences of this abused and embattled genre and inject it full of fresh ideas, fantastic songs, tasteful dramatics and a heap of speed.

𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐓 – like the rest of the bill play a genre plagued with mediocrity and predictability but shove enough electricity up its ass to have the corpse brimming with new life. Nominally ‘old school death metal’ these guys know where the riches are hidden and are an unstoppable, uncontrollable example of making death metal exciting, inventive and engaging again, all the while staying exceptionally brutal.
